Users can lock UP tokens for up to four years, or permanently, to generate veUP, an NFT that grants voting power. During each seven-day epoch, veUP holders can vote to allocate UP emissions to specific liquidity-pool gauges. This democratic process allows voters to receive 100% of protocol trading fees and any additional incentives, while liquidity providers benefit from emissions by staking in the designated gauges.
